H. Brownell Wheeler, M.D., 19801980-01-01H. Brownell Wheeler, M.D., a vascular surgeon, educator, administrator, end-of-life care advocate, and inventor, was the first faculty member and first department chair to be hired by the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Wheeler was the Founding Chair of the Department of Surgery. This photo was taken for the university's 1980 yearbook.
