Abstract
Gaps in care and insurance coverage occur as young adults transition from students to employees, and coverage may be inadequate for an unanticipated health care event such as trauma or malignancy. Multiple oncology clinical investigators have identified challenges in enrolling adolescent and young adult patients into clinical trials. The challenges are multifactorial and center on the access to clinical care providers and their understanding of available clinical trials.
