Abstract
Ampulla of Vater tumors are uncommon, with an incidence of approximately four to six cases per million population. Incidence of ampullary cancer is higher in Caucasian and African-American men than in women [Fig. 1]. Among the periampullary tumors, they account for around 6% of lesions. Signet ring cell pathology is a rare finding in ampulla of Vater carcinoma.
