This study explored the meaning and experience of aging in place for adults 85 years and older in the community. The unitary biographical narrative method, informed by Ricoeur and Rogerian science, undergirded by Elizabeth Barrett's theory, power as knowing participation in change, was used. Final analysis was a metanarrative. Fifteen interviews of older adults revealed that their decisions demonstrate power-as-freedom. Home is different from home - Home is the manifestation of unitary synthesis with the universe, love, familiarity, and connections, and love-power resonance enhances wellbecoming. Nurses are well-positioned to interpret the meaning behind the words of their patients and support love-power resonance in nursing practice.
