Community-based research brings together the knowledge of researchers, community stakeholders and community leaders to form partnerships to improve health in the community. These partnerships grow as researchers bring their expertise and community partners bring their voice to the table. While community partners develop varied skills through informal research projects, they do not always obtain formal training in this area. The qualitative and quantitative findings in this paper collected from key informant interviews, identifies research topics of interest from nineteen participating centers nationwide. Identification of research topics, recruitment, and dissemination of results are among the training interests of the community-based research partners who responded to the survey. Information from this project will be used to develop the foundation of a research methods training curriculum for community partners.
