The aim of this study was to characterize and compare coagulation screening tests, procoagulant and anticoagulant factors between hibernating and summer-active bears. This may identify relevant pathways sustaining blood flow during immobility and subsequently facilitate translational research for potential future human therapies of thromboembolic disease.Source
