Patients presenting to the Emergency Department with the complaint of abdominal pain can pose a diagnostic challenge. History and physical examination in conjunction with age, comorbidities, and laboratory values may not yield the expected diagnosis. The authors present a case of an uncommon disease with high morbidity and mortality presenting outside the expected patient population.Source
