Abstract

This past year, 2018, represented the culmination of a decade of remarkable successes in the field of human gene therapy, and likewise within the Human Gene Therapy journal. The five most-cited papers published in 2018 in Human Gene Therapy demonstrate the dynamic nature of the field and the central role that the journal continues to play as a forum for data exchange and dialog. In this brief Editorial, these articles are summarized and placed into context.
